Attractions in Dresden's old city
Frauenkirche
The world-famous 102-metre high Frauenkirche has a free-standing. sandstone dome and is considered the most important protestant Baroque building in Germany. In 2005, reconstruction work was completed. Since then the Frauenkirche has been one of the main sightseeing attractions of the city on the Elbe.
Dresdner Zwinger
The Dresdner Zwinger is a museum complex surrounded by the Semperoper, Theaterplatz, Schloss and Hofkirche and from extensive gardens. The former festival site impresses its visitors with the complete harmony of the late Baroque. Today, the Zwinger houses the Old Masters art gallery, the Mathematics-Physics Salon, the famous porcelain collection and impressive armoury.
Dresden Semperoper
The Dresden Semperoper was built in Italian high renaissance style, and is one of the most beautiful opera houses in the world.
Residenzschloss (Dresden Castle)
Once the seat of Saxony's Regents, it was the powerhouse of the Saxon Dukes and Kings. The castle played a major role in Dresden's cultural development and is today one of the city's most important constructions.
Schinkelwache
The former watch house in Sophienstrasse (between the Dresden Zwinger, castle und Semperoper) is today a ticket office, e.g. for the Dresden Semperoper.
Procession of Princes
The impressive Procession of Princes is considered the largest porcelain image in the world. The 101-metre long mural portrays the 1,000-year history of the house of the Saxon regents, in a larger-than-life horseback procession.

Karl May Museum
If you love thrilling stories from the Wild West, you can visit the house of Saxon author Karl May in Dresden Radebeul. Wackerbarth Castle

GDR Museum "Time travel"
The Wasapark Radebeul was built in socialist style and houses the largest permanent exhibition on life in the GDR.

You can take a wonderful trip through the impressive landscape with quarries and streams on the famous Loessnitzbahn train.
Altkötzschenbroda city centre
Altkötzschenbroda is Radebeuls most beautiful village green. It is between the Wine Route and the Elbe cycle path. The most popular area of the town for a stroll offers original pubs, studios, antique shops and historic houses.
